Congratulations little scholars – you make us proud!

Curriculum

Our program and all its activities are based on the Montessori Curriculum.  Children are encouraged to explore, experiment & experience with each new theme introduced to them. This is accomplished through music, movement and art and is determined essentially by the child’s own interests. Teachers initiate activities and assist children to expand their information and interact with peers and adults.

The philosophy of multiple intelligences is that each child has different intelligences:

  1. linguistic
  2. mathematical
  3. kinesthetic
  4. musical
  5. spatial

That is why children learn in different ways and diverse paces. Learning environments all over the world use this approach to transform the way they teach and the way children learn.

Your child is at a stage where all his/her energies need to be channeled towards positive growth in mind and body. Whenever something sparks their interest, they soak up everything they can find out about it, quickly, deeply and intensely, learning that will last forever.

Learning resources of all kinds are made available to the children. They ask and listen, and think, and consider, and conclude, and perform, and disagree, and create, and take apart, and sing and dance, and their imaginations fly.

Our curriculum is designed to nurture and challenge each child’s diverse intellectual capabilities and talents, guiding them to their full potential. The curriculum is divided into “themes” that are carried across learning areas. Concepts are brought alive through auditory, visual and kinesthetic experiences.

Field trips

Field trips are an important  part of the curriculum. We will notify you of any field trips that are planned through the communication diary or the monthly newsletter.

Parent Teacher communication

Being a part of your child’s school experiences can be a very exciting experience for parents. The communication between school and parents is maintained in three ways.

  1. Communication diary for any notes between home and school (the dairy must remain in your child's backpack at all times)
  2. Monthly newsletter to parents summarizing what has been covered in the past month and notifying parents of upcoming events in the following month
  3. Regular Parent teacher meetings

We encourage you to ask your children to recall their day at school. Read the dairy together everyday to add to the enrichment of your child's day at school.  This schedule will assist you in reinforcing your child’s learning.

Dressing your child for school

Dressing your child or school ensures safety and ease in the play area and allows independence in class and at toilet time. If staff members feel a child is inappropriately dressed, you will be asked to take him/her home to change.

Dress your child this way:

  2. Shorts or pants with elastic waist
  3. Loose tops or T-shirts with short sleeves

Sick child policy

For the health and safety of all children and staff, we follow a strict policy regarding sick children.

  1. If your child has an infectious condition (severe cough, nasal discharge, eye infection), he/she will be required to stay home.

  3. If having a fever, the child must be free from fever and medication for 24 hours before returning to school.
  4. Parents will be asked to pick up their child from school immediately if he/she has diarrhoea, nausea, fever or an unidentified skin complaint.

Minor injuries

Though Child-Care Montessori & Daycare takes all precautionary measures to ensure safety in its campus, may we remind you that minor scratches, bumps and bruises are a part of normal childhood.  We are equipped with a first-aid kit to handle minor injuries. The first point of contact will be the parents/guardians and they will be responsible for all other decisions.

Toilet training

Our staff works closely with parents in maintaining toilet training of our Montessori children. We maintain a regular restroom schedule in school and we request parents to continue the same at home. Already toilet trained children are encouraged to be independent with close supervision and enforcement of good hygiene.

Change of clothes

Parents should ensure that one full set of clothes are always available in your child's school bag marked with your child’s name. Any soiled clothes will be sent home for washing. All items of clothing must be marked with your child's name.
